C+AI Security is looking for a Software Engineer for Microsoft’s Azure Key Vault offering.  Microsoft’s Azure Key Vault is a fundamental building block for services and customer applications where sensitive data must be kept secure.  As a critical part of Azure, Key Vault goes wherever Azure goes. As a platform, Key Vault gives customers the means to easily and quickly protect data in the cloud and integrate with their apps & services. Backed by hardware-based cryptography, we offer safe, secure and customer-controlled access to their data.   

Our mission in the C+AI Security Division’s SRE team is to optimize and protect the software and systems behind our internal and customer offerings keeping an ever-watchful eye on their ability to meet our customer promises.  SRE handles bulletproofing, reinforcing, ruggedizing and generally improving the quality of service and innovation-throughput of the services under our purview.   

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver software and infrastructure to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of your services.    
• Solve problems relating to mission critical services and create solutions to prevent problem recurrence; with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional service conditions.    
•  Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards, and methods for large-scale distributed systems.    
• Engage in improving cost efficiency through service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.    
• Conduct periodic on call duties (on an as needed basis). 
•  Build and drive consensus towards common goals and priorities through advanced impact and influence skills. 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical & Computer Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of experience and good coding skills in at least one of the object-oriented computer languages: C#, C++/C, or Java (including internship)
• 1+ years of experience in software design (including feature or component design)

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:  

• Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements 
• Candidates must have an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with full scope polygraph) clearance. 
• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• A passion for object-oriented design and programming, especially for back-end, with interests in live site support and foundation features
• Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset
• Strong debugging, testing / validation and analytics/DB skills 
• Understanding SDLC, distributed systems, networking, hardware, logistics and operations or capacity planning   
• A passion for building and participating in highly effective teams and development processes
