What will you do?
You will be part of the Global Digital organization within Thermo Fisher Scientific’s larger Materials and Structural Analysis R&D organization, which is committed to bringing game changing software solutions to our customers to help them achieve success.
The applications being developed focus on using advanced approaches, including Machine Learning, to enable autonomous operation of our Transmission Electron Microscope product lines. You will be helping develop the next generation of products that are key to helping our semiconductor customers accelerate semiconductor and advanced materials research, solve complex analytical challenges, improve fault diagnostics, deliver advanced equipment and workflows to market, and increase lab and fab productivity.
How will you get here?
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering or a related field, or relevant experience
- 7+ years of software development experience
- C#, Python or related languages, or the ability and desire to learn
- Artificial intelligence / machine learning (including deep convolutional neural networks), computer vision, image processing, or related experience.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities in both familiar and unfamiliar domains
- Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
- Desire to continuously improve processes and practices
- Experience with design and development of features; taking them from concept to implementation
- Discipline, pride, and professionalism to write clean, unit-testable code
- Able to comprehend complex data and use it to troubleshoot issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Eligible for passport and ability to travel internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable working in a remote environment
- Experience in Test Driven Development and related technical approaches
- Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)
- Web / REST API development
