Job Overview
The Digital Vehicle Solutions Group at Daimler Trucks North America delivers value to our customers through connected vehicle products and services. The Software Engineering Teams that support this group are solely responsible to develop telematics products and support them. The group is seeking a Big Data IoT Software Engineer to contribute within an Agile Development Team responsible for Telematics Services. The focus of this team is to develop connectivity services for connected truck fleets as well as for the wider ecosystem. This team will develop new software products integrating with the global connectivity data platform and different functional systems of the Detroit Connect solution: A Customer Portal, Vehicle Communication Data Hub, Big Data Analytics Engine, and/or a Subscription Management System.

Responsibilities
- Contribute as team member using agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Use software engineering best practices/processes and work within designated guidelines.
- Lead design activities and serve as a UI/UX developer.
- Frontend development and support.
- Backend development and support.
- Collaborate with stakeholders for future telematics features.
- Systems thinking, understanding, and communicating impacts to other development teams.
- Develop automated tests and validate software changes.
- Full understanding of the software development life cycle.
- Identify and solve the root cause of complex problems.
- Open and accepting of new challenges.
