The Minecraft Discovery team is looking for a C++ developer to join us in our mission to expand the world of Minecraft. You will work to unlock the capabilities of our Bedrock Game Engine, empowering developers to create new experiences that surprise and delight our players. You will engage in problem solving across a range of code domains as you bring together components from across our partner teams. You are as proficient reading code as you are writing it and you are constantly learning from and sharing your understanding with others as you work to overcome a constantly changing set of challenges.

• Integrate, adapt and extend existing game engine technology for use in new environments or applications.
• Work closely with other teams to identify and deliver brand new code components that support the vision of our developer customers.
• Create samples, documentation, and other education material for developers building on the Bedrock Game Engine.

Qualifications

• At least 18 months professional C++ experience.
• Previous work experience on a AAA-class video game.
• Previous experience working within a large (1 million+ line) codebase.
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to quickly prototype and iterate.
• Self-directed, and comfortable in a highly ambiguous environment.
