.NET Core is a project under the .NET Foundation (https://dotnetfoundation.org/). Its .NET Foundation Technical Steering Group guides future of the .NET platform, and consists of representatives from key partner companies (Microsoft, RedHat, JetBrains, Unity, Samsung, Google).
.NET Core is a popular framework and was voted as #1 in Stack Overflow survey category "Most Loved Frameworks, Libraries, and Tools".
We are settling a team of developers on .NET Base Class Libraries (BCL) , focused on Networking. We want you to help us build high-performance modern BCL and networking stack for .NET Core (OSS), optimized for cloud workloads. .NET Core is cross-platform (Windows, Linux, macOS), open source (https://github.com/dotnet/corefx), fast, lightweight and modern .NET platform with multiple language support (C#, VB, F#, etc.).
Our goal is to build one of the best platforms which makes developers successful - i.e. it enables developers to be productive and enables developers to build great high-performance applications for their customers either in cloud or on premises. That is our contribution to Microsoft mission “to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more”.
Responsibilities
You will leverage collaboration skills by working in distributed international team across time zones, mostly working on open-source projects on GitHub. .NET Core is cross-platform, so you will be working with Linux, Mac OS and Windows operating systems.
You can also leverage any experiences related to building high-performance libraries, networking stack, or in designing APIs for modern languages.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience developing commercial software
