Electrical engineer - testing  (smart circuit breakers)

Job description:

Testing of software for Eaton home automation, power distribution and energy management solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of test setups and test environment (both hw and sw)
• Test automation (scripting languages, e.g. Python)
• Preparation of test plans
• Creation of and executing test cases
• Preparation of test reports
• Continual update of test tools, methods and processes to cover new requirements and new product development
• Providing support to field trials and early adopters
• Support maintenance of already existing software
• Study and deploy new software, communication and iOT technologies

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical engineering
• Eligible for Electrical Certification

Knowledge in some of those fields:

• Programming and scripting for Linux based (embedded) systems
• Industrial communication protocols, e.g. Modbus, Profinet.
• Software development processes and test processes
• SW applications in the field of energy distribution, power distribution protection devices, home automation, iOT
• English

Nice to have:

• C/C++
• iOT technologies
• Protocols used for home energy and automation functions (ZigBee, Z-Wave, …)
• Knowledge of industrial automation communication protocols (Profibus, ProfiNet, CAN, Modbus, etc…)
• Experience with firmware testing and testing of embedded devices
• Web technologies, e.g. Javascript, JSON, CSS,  jQuery
