Responsible for technical leadership of multiple aspects of graphics firmware development, validation, and simulation environment design and enablement with a focus on power management features. This work involves being heavily involved with and influencing hardware design during Pre-Silicon development, driving production code and design reviews for the team, owning validation design strategy and test development, as well as designing and planning improvements for our Pre-Silicon firmware simulation platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mentoring engineers while still being heavily involved in daily technical work, including design and code contributions of their own. Candidate characteristics include, but not limited to: - A love for programming and solving complex problems - A passion for taking ownership of ambiguous and messy situations and driving them towards clean and maintainable solutions - A strong desire to understand and influence areas outside of their primary domain which have impact on the quality of the Firmware we deliver - A track record of technical mentorship of engineers newly assigned to your project - Demonstratable understanding of the full GPU stack (Hardware and Software), and able to use that knowledge to drive technical decisions for Firmware - Strong understanding of clean interfaces, and the ability to get other engineers aligned on the importance and maintenance of them - Ability to understand the big picture and working with limited supervision to help the organization achieve its goals - Ability to understand graphics driver and firmware requirements and translate into code and validation designs based on hardware, operating system or industry specifications.

Qualifications

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience, Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 8 years of relevant work experience in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Additional experience should be demonstrated in the following areas: - At least 9 years of experience on Graphics Kernel-mode drivers, GPU Firmware, or SoC Firmware - At least 7 years of technical leadership, with a focus on software design and/or code ownership - Strong skills in Operating System architecture, Embedded System architecture, GPU Architecture, Kernel mode/low level programming, and Firmware development - Strong grasp on C/C++, ISA/assembly programming language
