Intel Gdansk team is expanding its software engineering team in the field of GPGPU. We are looking for the student to join the Intel Graphics Compiler team within the Visual Computing Group. In this role you will work on the newest technologies associated with Intel Graphics. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively work with cross-geo teams of software development and validation engineers, graphics architects, performance analysts and other support teams to create and innovate cutting edge graphics features. You will have an opportunity to make impact on future hardware design and software improvements by defining innovative features or validation strategies to deliver best in class products and improve overall user experience.


Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Gaining and continuously extending in-depth knowledge of Intel graphics architecture and features as well as demonstrating it in day-to-day activities

  • Using a structured approach in designing, developing and testing graphics system-level software and/or tools

  • Working with various partners to enhance and improve graphics performance on upcoming processor graphics devices by analysing performance issues in software drivers and applications, implementing software performance improvements, and recommending future hardware and software improvements

  • Ensuring our hardware and software will function and perform as expected

  • Root-causing and resolving issues

Who are we looking for?
At Intel, our internships are usually around 12-24 months long, and you'll be with us part-time alongside your university degree to support your educational and professional development at the same time. We ask that all applicants are current university students and will remain students during the length of our internship.

Hybrid/remote mode.

There is possibility to work remotely or on hybrid mode.


Qualifications

No professional experience is required, although fair C++ skills is needed to be successful at this role.
Also Important for us:

  • Ability to work in a team and can do mentality is a key for us

  • Knowledge of Linux operating system

  • Good analytical skills

  • English at least at B2 level


An opportunity to learn/nice to have:

  • Personal interests in the area of GPU compilers, MLP/ AI etc.

  • In-depth knowledge of GPGPU/3D pipeline and API standards: OpenCL, Direct3D, Vulkan, OpenGL/ES, etc.

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
