Job summary

Red Hat Certified Professionals and DevOps team is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will work alongside some of the brightest engineers in open source to create innovative tools. You’ll work for one or more projects starting from the Jira Bugzilla plugin, which is being heavily used by Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 teams to sync bugs between Bugzilla and Jira and which is critical to the success of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 team's adoption of the new strategy, agile. You’ll serve as a site reliability engineer, developing and maintaining this plugin. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will also get an opportunity to work on some other cool projects (Java or Python) if the plugin is all set.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Respond to tickets (problems or new feature requests)
  • Talk with customers to clarify requirements
  • Fix bugs
  • Implement new features
  • Study new technologies
  • Work in a globally distributed team

Required skills

  • Knowledge of open source tools, e.g., Maven and Eclipse
  • Knowledge of JEE
  • Ability to perform research on your own
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of Python programming is a plus
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Middleware ecosystems, e.g., Red Hat JBoss
  • Enterprise Application Platform (JBoss EAP) or WildFly is a plus
