The goal of Azure Intelligence Platform – Cloud Cost Management team is to foster a data-driven culture, to encourage and enable Azure Customers to make more informed decisions and manage their costs through data. As part of that work our infrastructure and solutions team develop and operationalizes the Cost Management features that enables Azure Customers to understand and manage their cost effectively. As the volume of data-and the demand for solutions-grows, we need a strong and experienced Lead who can design & develop on Big Data systems and lead the team in delivering impactful features and manage day-to-day operations

Responsibilities

• Manage a group of talented engineers in achieving business goals while mentoring them to attain career goals and engage Partners for feature design and delivery.
• Create and manage complete designs that solve classes of problems, enable group of components and satisfy business, customer, engineering and operational requirements.
• Design and develop key ingredients to big data pipelines using spark/Scala, workflow orchestration tasks, diagnostic interfaces, service layers and other assorted reporting/distribution assets.
• Design, develop and maintain reliable and scalable Storage solutions at Azure scale supporting sub second query response.
• Actively participate in building the project roadmap and lead the team through the execution of the roadmap.
• Work directly with major customers in the industry to both diagnose and provide solutions for their technical scenarios.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of strong design, coding, testing and troubleshooting experience with customer facing systems.
• 3+ years of development experience in Big Data platforms is required. Cosmos/Spark is preferred. Outstanding Design skills in C#, T-SQL and No SQL like Cosmos DB / Kusto
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information Systems, or closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver high business impact initiatives on time with quality. 
• Experience in engineering technical roles and solid results in shipping software products, with experience working through the full product cycle from initial design to final product delivery - experience shipping Microsoft products preferred.
• Ability to build credibility with senior engineers and senior management; able to earn and sustain the respect of highly technical professionals.
• Demonstrated ability to create a supportive work environment for career and personal development.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including communication with executives.
• Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous situations and across organizational boundaries.
