Our state-of-the-art fire alarm systems provide people and equipment around the world with 24-hour protection against fire damage – in line with our motto “We make the world a safer place”. Siemens' global center for the development of fire protection systems, which set standards worldwide, is located in Zug. As our products are available globally, the ability to localize the fire protection systems to the specific needs of our customers is key. This is not only true for the language specific aspects but also for functionality which is tailored to the specific needs of the fire regulations and to optimize our product to the customer-specific processes. Finally, having such a powerful product tailored to the markets, needs a continuous optimization and enhancement of the localization automation. This is why we need you in our team. The Globalization Manager is also responsible for configuring and maintaining the translation management system, keeping inventory and repository of all localized content, quality assurance of content based upon country standards, and improving software for a multilingual operation. Your new responsibilities Responsible to communicate to our country localization managers to get the country specific settings for our product to enable the best performance in their markets Work with multiple cross-functional, agile teams to keep the localization process optimized and increase the performance and robustness of the process and the localization software Work globally with internal and external colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other development departments Assume responsibility for your own work and use the freedom given to you to achieve the best possible solutions Our agile working environment makes it possible to respond to changing market needs with custom-made solutions By mutual agreement and depending on your interests and skills, there are many opportunities to take on further responsibilities in the areas of technology and project management Your skills and experience Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering/natural sciences or equivalent Interest in developing localization support software on your own and also with support from other development teams Technical understanding and openness to deal with hardware and software topics Self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to work independently, and proactive Excellent knowledge of written and spoken German and English Experience in using some of the following technologies and tools would be a plus: “Weblate” as a localization tool Heartsome Editor TMX files Several years of professional experience in localization management would be beneficial Who and where we are Find out why Siemens is chosen every year as one of the most popular employers in Switzerland, and get a first impression of a new working environment and the people who could be your new work colleagues.
