If you are our Software Product Engineer in Taiwan, you will have a chance to:

Cover the factory Software related process set up. Need to work with HP Design team on the knowledge transferring to ODM production flow for HPI products including Consumer Desktop/Consumer NB/Commercial NB. In the meanwhile, the role will take over end to end process set up and quality review closely with ODM to make sure no gating and risks. The role shall take lead on issue investigation and solution proposal with ODM. The coverage from NPI to product end of line.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Software settings with ODM for production flow including image/BIOS/Diag as HP spec defined and do audit.
• Maintain process changes and give review and conduct pilot run and approval for Software process changes.
• Lead Software case changes like image, BIOS, FW and security items timely with ODM and do coordination on schedule, risks, pilot run, critical delivery to make sure cut in and RTP timely.
• Measure ODM Software quality like image quality, Diag major failure due to process related, OBE issue or customer returned failures with HP and ODM function team for quality enhancement.
• Manage ODM Software capacity with mass production with proper buffer strategy.
• Program management of Software design change which requires factory process change which have smooth ramp up.
• Manages and leads a program involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the engineering development and implementation process for a product or service offering.
• Leading issue resolution and do preventive actions with technique team or cross function team for permanent fix.
• Review design spec and join NPI pilot run for the factory testing assessment and FAI checklist update. Address new item coverage with technique team and factory with fixtures, testing tool, testing program settle down to make sure smooth NPI to ramp.
• Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into project standard activities in the manufacturing and/or engineering organization
• Strong communication skill set to conduct program progress, escalation, issue FA with product stakeholders. Collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules.

Education and Experience Required:

• Must have Software Engineering background with degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
• Welcome candidate have Software programming skills and comes from R&D org, now motivated in joining Supply Chain Engineering
• 8-10 years working experience in PC industry, better worked at ODM before.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Familiar with PC product and its architecture, especial on software perspective, proficient in OS, driver, F/W, BIOS etc. technology.
• Deeply familiar with manufacturing process, especial on product test/setting, image deploy and audit for software as well as shop floor system etc…
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English; better has PM experience and lead project/program ever.
• Extensive experience with using project and program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track project results.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Good communication skill and project management experience, able to manage complex mass related activities to achieve project purpose.
