Job Description

Debugs software products using systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans, analyzes, and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure correct functionality, determines root causes of failures, and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation for technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software.

Qualifications

The Debugger and Trace Team is primary located in Munich. Our responsibility is the development of debuggers and embedded software development products being optimized for the Intel architectures. These debuggers and products are used to create applications for the next generation embedded devices, client computers and servers in conjunction with multiple platforms and operating systems.

Are you interested into tinkering and playing with hardware? Do you enjoy working with bleeding edge technology and braving the path forward? This role requires a good set of initiative and problem solving skills, on top of the technical qualifications.

We are searching for an Software QA test engineer with Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. As member of the Systems Integration Team you work on platform configuration and setup, validation and preparation for application debugger tools development. Besides Intel architecture HW skills, you need experience in working with different operating systems like Windows and Linux and its variety of distributions.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Software development experiences in Python and/or Java and/or C/C++

  • Experience with processor architecture (Intel architecture preferred)

  • Experience in SW validation and testing

  • Experience with Linux and Windows OS development environments

  • Experience in using debuggers

  • Experience in using IDE (integrated development environment)

  • Fluent English language capability in SW scope

  • Good team player and communication skills

  • Self-education, self-organized and self-development


The following qualifications would be add advantages:

  • Experience in open source software engineering

  • Experience in embedded SW specifics

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
