RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create written test solutions for user stories within a Scrum or Kanban team
• Work within team-defined commitment windows to provide value to our customers and clients
• Work with the Scrum or Kanban team to create solutions for stakeholders and clients
• Tests user interfaces, SQL databases, reports, APIs, and data transmissions
• Create tests, including test data, in a variety of testing environments
• Write, modify, and execute basic automation scripts (not record and playback)
• Clearly and succinctly speak to, and incorporate, testing methodologies, principles, and techniques
• Develop, modify, and execute moderately complex SQL queries
• Use judgment within defined policies and practices
• Document and communicate issues and/or concerns discovered during sprints
• Work directly with database administrators, security engineers, user experience professionals, and others to resolve challenges quickly, yet with a quality-first mindset
• Assist in building a culture of learning and continuous improvement for the team (QA and SCUM/KANBAN)
• Work with other groups, displaying strong communication and collaboration skills
• Demonstrate an understanding of how applications are used by customers, clients, and internal support
• Work independently with light to limited reliance on a more senior team member

• Apply test methodology, as well as business process and application knowledge, in the design of tests and testing strategies/approaches
• Clearly articulate the IT infrastructure supporting existing and new applications and services
• Mentor junior testers

• Write and execute API tests
• Identify and communicate quality concerns and/or process improvements
• Work across teams to enhance quality by identifying and helping to implement initiatives that will improve capability and efficiency
• Collaborate with other scrum teams and stakeholders
• Identify tasks/ dependencies/ risks during backlog grooming/planning
• Provide reasonable test estimates
• Articulate technical issues
• Capture and communicate quality issues discovered during sprints
• Apply test methodology, as well as business process and application knowledge, in the design of tests and testing strategies/approaches
• Participate in user story and test case reviews to ensure appropriate coverage, identifies and remedies gaps in stories or test coverage
• Follow established processes and procedures pertaining to Scrum/Kanban, software development, quality assurance, and regulations. (i.e. SOX, FDA, QMS, HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
• This position will also be required to work nights and weekends as needed to support development efforts and to perform production release validations

• Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding patient and company confidentiality (HIPAA)
• Other duties as assigned.

   BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

• Completed Bachelor’s Degree
• Typically, at least 3+ years of related work experience is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Typically, 3+ years of strong hands-on QA experience with web applications, services and APIs preferably developed using SQL Server, Windows Server, Visual Studio .NET, ASP.NET, HTML/CSS/JS, jQuery, React, Angular, C#.
• Typically, 2+ years of experience in database testing with the ability to read, write, and execute complex SQL queries.
• Typically, 1+ years of experience with automation testing using tools and frameworks like NUnit, Katalon, UFT, or Selenium
• Typically, 2+ years of experience testing web services, web APIs, Databases, Authentication, web server configuration
• Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• 1+ years mentoring experience is preferred
• Proficiency with web services, web sites, database, network connectivity and authentication, SQL Server, configuration, and debugging
• Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) or similar project management suite is preferred
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organization and documentation
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks and cooperate and collaborate in achieving team objectives
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships within a business setting

COMPETENCIES:

Certifications, licenses, etc. are not required for this position, however, holding or obtaining a certification from an industry-recognized testing and quality assurance entity is advantageous for this position.

Examples of industry-recognized certifications are:

• ISTQB/ASTQB-CTFL:  Certified Tester-Foundation Level or equivalent
• ISTQB/ASTQB Certified Agile Tester Extension or equivalent
