Job Description:


The Global Sourcing Manager (GCM) for Software (SW) aims at delivering favorable impacts to his internal customers’ business performance (top & bottom lines) and at protecting Technicolor’s interests. This position can also be referred to as "SW GCM" or "Software Sourcing Manager".


The Software Sourcing Manager is responsible for commercial negotiations, supplier management and contractual negotiations for:

  • Sourcing and licensing of software embedded in Connected Home products;
  • Outsourcing of software developments for Connected Home R&D.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Commercial negotiations:
  • As the leader of the negotiation team, the SW GCM identifies and assesses potential vendors, then negotiates corresponding agreements. Negotiations aim at aggressively minimizing Technicolor’s costs.
  • Systematic involvement at new projects' inception in order to conduct an early and thorough Sourcing process: RFI, RFQ, multiyear negotiation, SW supplier selection, SoW (Scope of Work) engagement.
  • Leverage appropriate tools e.g. e-Sourcing for RFQs, savings reporting, etc.
  • Negotiate all terms influencing TCO including payment terms, incoterms, flexibility, NREs or development funds, exclusivity, MFN.
  • Meet cost saving KPI.
  • Supplier Management:
  • Owns the business relationship with suppliers: organize the supplier governance through appropriate regular business, technical and commercial reviews at relevant hierarchical levels.
  • Track supplier's execution performance and take appropriate escalation actions.
  • Foster relationships that allow close interactions and brings preferential conditions to Technicolor in the area of innovation e.g. early roadmap access, integration of Technicolor technologies into suppliers' roadmap, etc.
  • Contractual negotiations:
  • The SW GCM is responsible for negotiating Service Agreements, Software License Agreements (“SLAs”) standalone and SLAs related to SW bundled with HW components such as SoCs.
  • Shape/redline all contractual clauses with Legal Counsel to achieve the best possible performance and minimize Technicolor's risk, particularly on Open Source code & Intellectual Property.


Candidate Profile:

  • Master degree in computer sciences / software engineering or equivalent experience. Sourcing specialization is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in negotiating software license agreements or engineering services is a plus.
  • Project management skills (abilities to manage projects and foster multi-functional, multi-cultural team) are a plus.

  • Strong leadership skills: able to drive projects with cross functional teams and interact at VP level (Supplier and Internal).
  • Excellent analytical skills to understand, question and synthesize complex cases with software, business and legal aspects required.
  • Positive and ethical attitude.
  • Ability for regular travels as well as strong work capability are required.
  • Keeps curiosity high and mind wide open to welcome new ideas and fosters a "can do" attitude to learning and change management.
  • English fluent.
