Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Division is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our team. This position is based in Syracuse, NY and does offer relocation assistance. Position Overview: The incumbent will oversee the IoT system design testing to achieve on-time delivery and meet performance requirements. The job incumbent will own the quality of all modules of the IoT System requiring them to clearly understand the customers’ requirements, environment and expectations. This position will allow the incumbent to demonstrate the ability to drive innovation from ideation through the ProLaunch process. A highly entrepreneurial sense of urgency along with a passion for the industry is desirable, along with a drive to grow both personally and professionally. The essential functions of this role include: Embedded testing of IoT systems covering embedded edge devices, wireless protocols such as Wifi, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Mesh devices, wired protocols like Modbus Utilize sniffing tools, such as Wire Shark and Ellisys, to create wireless communication devices Create test strategy, test plan, test cases for various functionality with edge device, mobile app and cloud solutions Execute test with automated scripts for testing embedded devices using C / C++ or Python Conduct peripheral testing such as SPI. I2C, PWM, UART, A2D, Veeprom NV Mem Management, Flash drivers Create detailed test cases for quality, performance & reliability of embedded products covering all functionality Integration testing between firmware & software, firmware & hardware Test embedded products with mobile app, web applications and or standalone software which is used to develop infrastructure enabling subscription entitlement for digital solution monetization and life cycle management Provide Technical mentoring and guidance, clear obstacles, drive decisions, identify critical dependencies and risks.
