We have an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect - Data Centers to join our Distribution Systems team. Reporting to the Technical Sales Support Manager, and working with our Sales, Tendering, Project Management & Engineering teams, this role will be both challenging and rewarding having full responsibility for development of Data Centers business for the business unit. Responsibilities of this role include: • Drives and guides the creation of a functional architecture for a complete solution and of a technical realization concept over all its domain and technical aspects. • Designs and engineers the solution down to detail to satisfy the specified requirements of the customer. • Defines the products, components, and systems to be used and their concrete characteristics. • Evaluates different concepts with respect to technological and commercial aspects. • Specifies and integrates standard products, components, and systems according to the required functionality of the solution and coordinates their interfaces and interaction. • Verifies and validates the concepts and specifications versus the requirements and standards. • Manages the technical / functional / performance requirements, including requirements traceability and requirements verification • Provides feedback and lessons learned to the Engineering Organization and R&D department. • Works closely with the global CoC teams to ensure compliance to hyperscale customer requirements. • Acts internally as an integrating and coordinating technical function. • Draft the integration test concept (in collaboration with the Solution Engineer). • Supports the executing units (e.g. manufacturing, procurement, logistics). • Ensures business success and satisfaction of the customer and ensures professional stakeholder management. • Ensures timely decisions on open issues, escalating if necessary. • Performs technical risk management. • Ensures observance of specifications, under consideration of market and technology trends. • Cooperates with customers in assessing and optimizing solution specifications. • Present & discuss solutions / concepts with the customers during concept and acquisition phase. • Provides feedback to involved development engineers and teams. • Identify strategic competences required in the regional company to be more competitive in delivering data center solutions and assist with implementation of programs to develop this competence. The successful candidate will possess: • Minimum of 8-10 years experience with Power Distribution Networks including Modular Buildings, Skids, Switchgear, Busways, Protection, Metering etc. • Tertiary degree in Electrical engineering • Relevant experience in a similar role of a Solution Engineer / Architect • Ability to drive business initiatives and work successfully with multiple stakeholders • Advanced understanding of Quality, Safety and Environment requirements • Knowledge of relevant Australian and International Design and Electrical standards Siemens is a proud equal opportunity employer, creating a work environment of diversity and inclusion.
