OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

This Regional role is responsible for Logistics Solutions and Engineering projects within North Asia including Greater China. This role will support Countries, key Accounts and new opportunities as applicable. This will include but not limited to Sales Support, Tender Response Management, Solution Design, Operations turnaround solutions, metrics/productivity controlling, process mapping, Layout designs, resource determinations/validations and other industrial engineering-based activities. You will work closely with key stakeholders both internal and external to attain the project results and objective within the agreed timeframe.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tender Management

o Responsible for the co-ordination of Tender responses/submissions (RFQ/RFI)

o Responsible for the maintenance of the organizations content database and case studies, including SCM Solutions (which may include web and marketing collateral).

o Ensure the appropriate compliance to the CLCM (Customer Life Cycle Management) workflow from phases 2-4

o Responsible for the support on process analysis, solution design and associated productivity benchmarks for new business

o Document proposals and presentations in accordance with client requirements

o Provide expertise in the cost modelling and analysis of business for pricing determination and business improvement analysis

o Develop and implement tools/methods to assist countries with Tender responses and pricing calculations.

o Coordinate and liaise with other regions and B/Us to obtain cross-selling and multi-product tender opportunities

• Solution Design

o Responsible for managing assigned Tender projects for Toll existing and potential customers in Asia pacific region

o Provide analysis and design support in the pursuit of new business, inclusive of requirement clarifications, tender evaluations, manpower calculations, infrastructure investments and design.

o Conduct solution design inclusive of networks (fleet, hubs, routes, schedules), process design and documentation, costing/pricing and complete solution proposals for potential clients and business opportunities.

o Support New clients/customers analyse and document processes, workflows, position responsibilities and system flow in conjunction with physical transport network, identify tactical recommendations

o Ensure that key stakeholders (Internal & External) for projects identified to understand the project/solution requirements, communicate data requirements and methodology and build cross functional relationships.

o Responsible for project deliverables and involvement in solution presentations to customers

o Support Account Management and Business Development activities as required to meet the objectives of the team and department in TGL across North Asia and China

• Sales Support

o Responsible to provide support to Business Development and Account Management in the aspects relating to sales materials and reference cases

o Representative of Collaboration portals for the country, including contributions to development, uploading and administration of materials

o Responsibility for the administration and co-ordination of the sales pipeline and/or CRM tools

o Undertake the necessary support in terms of solutions, proposals and presentations where required for the support of new business opportunities

o Conduct research and development into auto-proposal builders and maintain a robust current set of building blocks

• Continuous operations improvement and re-engineering

o Analyse and document processes, workflows, position responsibilities and system flow in conjunction with physical supply chain, identify tactical recommendations

o Identify innovative opportunities that generate efficiencies, design new processes and direct pilot tests. Assess impact of designed processes, impact to warehouse design, technologies needed, impact to customer etc.

o Analyse contractual commitments, specifications, performance and other data to plan and develop logistics activities by using knowledge of industrial engineering, ergonomics, business practices & requirements

• Automation

o Apply robust analytical approach to flexible, sustainable and efficient Automation solution design

o Maintain working relationships and collaborate with vendors of integrated warehouse technologies and specialist firms across warehousing and trucking.

o Ensure proper assessment of efficiency for solution concepts, undertake simulation studies on capacity profiles and limits, line balancing, incremental investments.

o Conduct detailed cost impacts on Automation solutions

o Develop and conduct presentations or outlines on recommended solutions to both internal and external stakeholders

o Support the project management of automation implementations with specific focus on solution, design, testing and validation

o Organize with the IT teams to facilitate integration of automation solutions with internal WMS and other associated systems.

• Infrastructure Design, Capacity and Productivity

o Review the current lay-out and perform warehouse re-design as needed taking into consideration of net impact

o Review appropriate storage types and methodologies

o Use variety of tools like AutoCAD, Slotting, Pro Mod, Llamasoft, Infor to present/understand, predict and/or improve logistics operations, warehouse lay-out and processes

o Conduct Time studies and work measurement analysis to determine the current productivity and cycle times.

o Review the usage of appropriate MHE in relation to product specification, operations requirement and Layout

o Identify potential improvement opportunities and setting the productivity standards for the operations for ramp-up/ramp down scenario.

• Analysis and Support

o Conduct Financial impact (cost benefit) analysis for proposed initiatives, quantify savings projection and together with intangible benefits

o Assess the impact of changes and project against commercial offers to assess areas of further substantiation or profit improvement

o Support Operational Excellence/Six Sigma/VSM/Lean corporate initiatives and programs？ Offer support and advice to the Innovations team in the development of standardized solutions/tools to support general Logistics/Industrial Engineering programs

o Apply, implement and train staff on the use and interpretation of such tools/methodologies

SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB

• Strong Logistics Solutions and Supply Chain modelling skills
• Advanced Excel and VBA Skills
• Should be proficient in PowerPoint and have experience with customer presentations / public speaking
• Excellent Presentation and Documentation Skills
• Should be an advanced/experienced user of tools such as AutoCAD, MS Excel/Access, Decision Tools to perform complex data analysis
• Functional know-how in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
• Ability to build and develop sound business cases

• Lean/Six Sigma/TQM experience and qualifications an advantage
• Written and spoken Chinese and English (Korean and/or Japanese an advantage)

ESSENTIAL PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• Must have experience in or exposure to logistics operations in order to develop operationally feasible solutions
• Able to work under pressure and multi-task
• Personality traits such as: Customer focused, numeric skills, detail-oriented and able to manage cross-functional interfaces
• Must have good exposure to some of the following topics: storage mediums, material handling equipment, space analysis, manpower analysis, inventory/SKU analysis, operational key performance indicators, continuous improvement initiatives, transportation methods, packaging, secondary operations, costing
• Should have experience with process flow diagrams, time studies, methods/work study and/or other performance analysis methodologies
• Positive ‘can do’ attitude

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Tertiary: University degree/s in Industrial Engineering

Professional: Over 5 years of similar experience in Logistics Solutions Design, Industrial Engineering and/or in Logistics Operations management in warehouse/transport

Computer Literacy: Excellent in MS Excel, PowerPoint
