Job Description: The Lenovo DSS-G (Distributed Storage Solution for Spectrum Scale) solutions development team is seeking a Solutions Engineer with strong technical knowledge of networking in the context of Linux clusters (including network technologies such as InfiniBand and high bandwidth Ethernet).  The candidate will be a member of a global team developing/maintaining the DSS-G software defined storage solution integrating Spectrum Scale RAID, x86 servers using Linux, external storage enclosures or internal NVMe, and networking. Responsibilities: Specific tasks required for this position include: \- developing/maintaining/testing scripts that install solution software package with focus on networking components (e.g., firmware, drivers) \- administering the network infrastructure used in the team’s development lab (switches, cabling, adapters) \- advising technical sales teams from a network architecture perspective who are designing solutions \- supporting service teams installing/configuring solutions at a customer site from a network configuration perspective \- supporting product engineering by establishing root cause/providing fixes for field issues regarding networking relative to this solution. #### Position Requirements: Skills Required: • Experience with Linux clusters and network architecture of storage servers • Ability to install and configure cluster software/ Linux servers/ switches/ adaptors (applications, OS, drivers and firmware) • Working knowledge of InfiniBand and highspeed Ethernet in a Linux • Experience on developing and maintaining Bash scripts • Excellent written and oral communications and teaming skills • Must be self-motivated and able to work completely self-directed once ramped up Other Useful Skills: The following skills are good to have, but not essential; they can be learned on the job. • Experience with a clustered file system (e.g., Spectrum Scale (aka, GPFS), Lustre) • Experience with NFS in a Linux cluster • Working knowledge of OPA (Omni Path Architecture) • Working knowledge of other scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible) • Experience with HPC (High Performance Computing) • Experience with LaTeX What We Will Offer You: • Open and stimulating environment within one of the most forward-thinking IT companies • Modern and flexible way of working to combine personal and professional life, working from home • Passionate, global, and diverse Infrastructure Services Marketing and Portfolio Management team We are looking forward to discussing this position with you soon!
