Paper Sourcing Manager (m/f/d)

Location: Europe

The paper sourcing manager develops the sourcing strategy for the regional pack materials portfolio.

In order to ensure MRP delivery in full under the requirements of quality, total cost of ownership and lean principles the position is responsible for the strategy execution, procurement and supplier management for Mars Petcare Europe and other segments and regions as necessary. The jobholder must regularly monitor his markets in terms of availability and cost development, as well as forecast the cost implications to the business and communicate to relevant stakeholders.

Your Profile:

• University Degree in business / Procurement or similar
• 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in commercial, preferred in Procurement Packaging
• Fluent in English, any other European language of benefit
• Preferred experience in commercial negotiation, sourcing category expertise
• Strong stakeholder management and project management
• Commercial Negotiation skills are essential
• Up to 30% of travel anticipated
• Experience in a multinational environment
• Strong analytical skills with ability to navigate through complexity & ambiguity
   

Key Tasks:

Development and Implementation of a sourcing strategy for the responsible portfolio in order to ensure that these strategies:

• Deliver a competitive advantage and continuous operational improvement for Mars in terms of Cost, Quality, Cash, Service and Innovation.
• Drive value leadership program for the incumbent Categories
• Enable Pet Nutrition Europe delivery on its commitment for sustainable packaging for 2025
• Are aligned across functions - especially R&D and Supply.

Be accountable for the execution of the Sourcing Strategies of the incumbent portfolios in Pet Nutrition Europe:

• Ensure competitive pricing and effective price risk management.
• Develop a supplier base that is capable to maintain and improve quality.
• Drive supply chain initiatives to improve working capital position.
• Ensure material availability at pet nutrition sites in Europe.
• Drive Innovation through efficient supplier and internal stakeholder relationships.
• Engage the collaboration of the Commercial Operations Team for site implementation and compliance.

Ensure price forecasting in a complex and volatile commodity environment, providing the business with timely intelligence on pricing and availability risks as well as spotting new opportunities early.

Buying area representation and provision of requested input to selected forums where relevant, here representing Commercial in relevant central instances.

Maintain and develop collaboration with different business segments in Europe to continue improvement in purchasing synergies where relevant.
