Job Function: Sourcing Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Factory Sourcing
• Visit factory areas and meet potential new factories
• Determine factory capability/suitability
• Assess factories capability based on compliance and facilities
• Report findings to relevant Product Manager / Sourcing Manager
• Prepare Product Offers
• Request product offers from relevant factories
• Negotiation and request and complete formal quotations
• i.Inclusion of all required print materials, testing requirements and timelines
• ii.Best unit cost and payment terms
• Review offers and gather and collate information to submit to Sourcing Manager / Product Manager
• Production Management
• Regular communication with factories
• Follow up for deadlines including production samples
• Visit factories as required China wide
• Sample Management
• Order, track and check in samples
• Manage timing with QA department for product testing
• Feedback testing results to factory
• Arrange sample shipments to Australia / test labs as required
• Store and manage samples in the China Office
• Adhoc Duties
• Follow up and visit with factories where required
• Other duties from time to time as required
• Attend trade shows as required

Requirements:

• Excellent English / Mandarin, both written and oral. Cantonese regarded
• Experienced in product sourcing, production processes and international trading
• Experience with product testing and evaluation
• Proficient in MS office
• Good communication skills, detail oriented, strong sense of responsibility and teamwork
• Organised with an ability to multi task and manage competing priorities
• Honest and ethical work practices
• Professional & well presented
• Familiar with regulatory safety and compliance requirements
• Experience working with consumer electronics or kitchen appliances. Furniture, hardware, pet accessories, gardening also regarded
• Experience working with a Western company

Winplus Australasia is a Product Development company based in Melbourne, Australia, selling a wide variety of consumer products to retailers in Australia, the UK and USA.

This position will be in our established China office located in Long Gang District, Shenzhen. Your primary responsibilities will be focused on factory relationships, product sourcing and management of production.

You will report to the China Office Manager and will regularly communicate by email, skype and phone with the Australian team.

You will be expected to travel regularly to factories in other Provinces in China and occasionally to Australia. This role may require overnight stays for 1-10 days at a time.
