Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for plant Cost Out /Sourcing / Capacity projects when dual source are need required to keep Plants running. Principal Influencer and initiator for Sourcing / Localization projects from Power Systems – PRD Division. Support of transferring projects that requires sourcing support, VA/VE and NPD. Localizing suppliers, negotiating with suppliers, developing, and implementing projects follow up PROLauch methodology & ESSP when required Lead and support monthly COP results follow up productivity Council meetings to prioritize PRD projects and present monthly productivity savings for each of the plant. Support Capacity Constrains that requires launch of a new supplier to meet Customer demand. Support and align with Resilience Projects for each of the plants. Support supplier contract, risk management, specific commodities to the plants when no Global CM is designed. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible to find new opportunities, suppliers, reviewing quotes, proposals, prepare and send RFQs, trend and margin analysis for product or product family. Ensures proposals are aligned to business objectives. Focuses and advises on managerial concerns of sourcing projects (e.g., technical, cost, schedule and resource allocation). Demonstrating ability to operate on a global scale and persuade at different levels of the organization. Monitors overall performance during all phases of sourcing process, develops and implements corrective action and recovery plans as required. Effectively interface with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Identifying Potential supply base in Mexico & US. Understand Electrical market factors and secure long term supply continuity. Do the same for the other areas when plants are located as provides higher benefit to each of the plant. Apply progressive costing/negotiation tactics to deliver the lowest total delivered cost to all markets. Participate in Divisional and local VA/VE initiatives – including components localization. Coordinated Sourcing Council meetings across plants, prioritize projects, update plant productivity savings in GPS & CODB and update monthly COP presentations. DIMENSION: Cost Out Supplier On Time Delivery (SOTD) Supplier Quality (DPPM) Supplier Business Review (SBRs) Inventory Days On Hand (DOH) Inventory Accuracy Gross Inventory Excess and Obsolete Inventory (E&O) On Time Promise (OTP) Freight as a % of Sales – Included Expedited Freight (CONC) approvals and tracking MRP Monitor Compliance – Usage, Range of Coverage, Service Level Alignment and Material Master setting aligned with strategies #LI-SL4 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Basic Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Minimum of 7 years’ experience in purchasing related roles Minimum 3-year experience working in a manufacturing environment required. Ability to travel 25% Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in business, materials, supply chain, inventory control, or operations/logistics/Industrial Eng is preferred APICS certification is preferred Six Sigma Greenbelt certification is preferred Minimum of 1 year of progressive planning or buying experience in an ETO environment SAP Experience Position Criteria: Demonstrated sound decision-making skills.
