The Brisbane Airport Hotels Group encompasses the Pullman, Novotel and ibis Brisbane Airport Hotels, as well as the Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. With 532 guest rooms, 3 restaurants, Rooftop Event Space, IRD`s and 17 meeting spaces. Located at the Brisbane Airport precinct, it is the first accommodation and meeting and event space to be developed in this precinct. 

Novotel Brisbane Airport is currently seeking a Sous Chef to join the professional and dynamic kitchen team. This role will report to the Executive Chef, with responsibilities including leading the smooth day-to day shift operation within the Kitchen.
 

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Assist with creation and implementation of menus.
• Demonstrate leadership and effective communication within the Kitchen Team and Front of House.
• Excellent organisational skills and working under pressure with an even temperament.
• Arrange rosters and manage staff levels according to occupancy.
• Report on stock levels and maintain stock rotation for minimum food wastage.
• Track sales and daily costings.
• Support and develop the Kitchen Team for high performance through discussion and training.

To be successful in this role, you MUST have:

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Head Chef in high volume environments.
• Exposure to various cuisine styles in multiple outlets and open kitchens.
• The ability to lead, support & mentor small teams to achieve desired results.
• A strong understanding of modern food trends.
• A passion to learn and be challenged.
• Proven experience as a Senior Chef managing a team in a high volume restaurant.
• Ability to maintain high and consistent standards.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.
• Understanding of workplace health and safety principals as they apply to the kitchen environment.
• Exemplary communication skills.
• Microsoft office skills.
