A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef to be part of a luxury lifestyle resort in Southern Spain – Sotogrande, San Roque (Cádiz).
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
• Reporting to the Executive Chef de Cuisine, your essential job responsibilities and functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Running the kitchen when the Executive Chef de Cuisine is absent.
• Ensuring that his/her brigade has high culinary standards.
• Managing food purchasing and storage.
• Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Assist in creating new recipes and writing menus.
• Keeping food cost percentages under constant control.
• Prepare data sheets for new menus
• Oversee kitchen schedules, rotation and planned expenditure for extra staff.
• Deploy training and procedures for the professional development of the kitchen team.
• Ensure effective and efficient communication in the kitchen department
• Covering shifts for other sous chefs or line managers if required by daily operations
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:
• At least 3 years in the same or similar position.
• Internal and external customer orientation.
• Responsible and dynamic person.
• Commercial skills.
• Social and group leadership skills.
• Organizational skills.
• Team work.
• Tolerance to pressure.
• Hospitality studies or similar.
• Fluency in Spanish.
• Fluent English will be an asset
