Job Summary: The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will provide in-field support for pre-sales technical assistance and post-sales support for customers.  The role includes working collaboratively with R&D, Tech Support, Product Management, Applications and Sales for the optimization and deployment of the customer-facing materials.  Customer support responsibilities will include initial training during installation and technical support of the sample preparation, assay workflow, tissue imaging and data analysis for the Veranome Spatial Biology workflow.   Veranome is seeking a self-motivated individual who could assume managerial responsibility and build out larger customer support team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform onsite training and first line of troubleshooting support for the Veranome spatial multi-omic analysis platform. 
  • Support the sales team for technical assistance in pre-sales customer situations.
  • Serve as customer advocate by providing voice-of-customer and product feedback to Product Management and R&D partners for optimization and future product development.
  • Manage assigned territory independently including travel, schedule, coordination with field service engineer (FSE).
  • Provide technical support, including troubleshooting, for Veranome software and data analysis packages.

Skills & Background:

MS/PhD (preferred) or bachelors with equivalent relevant experience supporting commercial products in the life sciences and pertinent scientific areas.  We are looking for relevant experience in gene expression, next-generation and single-cell sequencing methods.  Additionally, familiarity with microscopy methods, including preparation of fresh-frozen and FFPE tissues, spatial-RNA or FISH-based genomic methods and immunofluorescence imaging.

  • Proven track record in customer support demonstrating strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Experience in analysis and interpretation neurobiology and/or Immune Oncology (IO) is highly regarded.
  • Skill and experience maintaining and tracking customer timelines and status and managing multiple stakeholders (including internal and external collaborators). 
  • Travel may be comprised of up to or exceeding 50% within localized territory, including support for European customer sites.
