Key Purpose of the Job:

The Specialist, Supply Chain Sustainability helps drive VF’s global efforts to minimize environmental impact through the planning and implementation of a supply chain sustainability strategy in collaboration with multifunctional teams. This role adds key leadership to drive key programs’ implementation of actions to achieve VF yearly sustainability objectives and goals in the North East Asia region including China, Taiwan and Korea. This role works directly with factories and mills’ partners and external organizations in the region to execute supply chain strategic sustainability objectives including but not limited to wastewater compliance, HIGG index adoption and verification, IPE violations’ investigation and follow up, Scope 3 SBTs’ initiatives and interventions which will drive VF to achieving our SBTs across the region where VF’s supply chain operates, helping to ensure VF’s supply chain continuously reduces our environmental impact. This role helps to ensure our sustainability programs have measurable results to deliver to the organization, helping VF deliver against its objectives, while simultaneously creating storytelling opportunities for VF brands, and exceeding the requirements of key stakeholders, including consumers, governments, NGO’s, and most importantly, VF’s own Purpose.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Supporting the Senior Manager and Manager of Supply Chain Sustainability in the development and implementation of the environmental sustainability strategies of VF and its brands, in association with the brands, and the VP of Sustainability.

Specifically, areas of focus include:

Wastewater Compliance

• In collaboration with the Sustainable Operations team, support in testing, monitoring and maintaining the global wastewater compliance platform in FFC
• Obtain and analyze wastewater data from partner factories
• Facilitate the factories’ waste water tests/ assessments with Sustainable Operations, third party laboratories and wastewater consultancies
• Conduct desktop review of factories' waste water test reports, and any other technical documents/reports
• Research new environmental/wastewater laws and regulations, as well as new initiatives in regards to environmental compliance activities and initiatives. Report critical environmental issues immediately to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain Sustainability and VF sourcing teams
• Help partner factories, in collaboration with third party experts, to remediate any wastewater and IPE violations issues
• Develop a program playbook for the wastewater compliance program
  
  

Higg Index adoption and verification

• Compile and update training materials for suppliers’ Higg Index Facilities Environment Module (FEM) self-assessment adoption

• Conduct annual Higg FEM trainings across all countries operating within the VF Asia supply chain

• Conduct Higg FEM verifications in China, Taiwan and Korea and deveop performance improvement plan with the suppliers

• Undertake research, analysis and benchmarking of environmental impact KPIs

• Provide technical support to factories in meeting sustainability objectives and targets

• Provide technical or administrative support for sustainability programs or issues as requested.

Scope 3 SBTs’ initiatives and interventions

• Implement and monitor a series of activities and programs from which VF will achieve our Scope 3 SBTs.

• Conduct internal and suppliers’ training on SBTs and provide hands on technical support to suppliers on implementing various interventions

Job Requirements：

• Minimum Relevant Experience: 3-5 year (s)
• Minimum Academic Requirement: Master’s Degree
• Major Subjects: Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental technology, Environmental Management
  

Language Proficiency:

• Writing Skills: Excellent written English and Chinese – additional languages a plus.
• Oral Skills: Fluent oral English and Mandarin– additional languages a plus
