Specialist, Back-End Investran Developer Asset Servicing Technology team: BNY Mellon Asset Servicing provides global solutions tailored to meet our clients’ unique needs to help enhance the management, administration and oversight of their entire investment process and deliver the tools they need to expand their ability to process, monitor and measure investment data from around the world. Primary Job Responsibilities to Include: Requirements Analysis Application design and development and implementation Automated testing Application deployment Second/Third level support for applications Additional Responsibilities/Qualifications: Hands on experience with C#, T-SQL, front-end and back end development (preference of 8+ years) Experience with Investran application, various reporting / BI tools is a big plus Expert with agile development process and project management tools like Jira Experience building apps, micro-services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level Experience with Open Source tools and frameworks such as Spring is a plus Experience with messaging systems (MQ, Kafka and JMS) is a plus Experience with build and CI tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins Experience using web servers, application containers, caching technologies and cloud-based technologies like Docker, Containers, AWS is a plus Solid knowledge of relational database (SQL Server, Oracle Server) design and development (SQL, stored procedures, data modeling) and understanding of NoSQL databases (Vertica, MongoDB) is a plus Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, software design with strong analytical and debugging skills Proven ability to write automated unit and integration tests for front-end and back-end code Financial Services experience, especially in Private Equity (Alternative Investment) is a plus Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge. Compiles documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system. Acts as mentor to junior level engineers. Prior experience with using a specific application development toolkit and knowledge of a backend development language required (i.e. C#, Java) S/he must have knowledge about the functions and features of modern and traditional structured methods for developing applications. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required. 5-7 years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus. S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. Extensive experience with developing and supporting backend environment required. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.
