Job Description
BNY Mellon is changing the way we test our software, moving from a manual test dependant process to adopting agile principles, test automation (CI/CD), Scrum/Kanban and building a strong relationship between stakeholder, technology and our automation partners across the business As a chapter lead, you will be responsible for Driving test standards across the business. This means you will help establish an effective organisational structure within the test chapter. You will lead the testers of varying levels within the chapter, inspiring them with new testing tools, approaches and models whilst also highlighting limitations to those tools. Moreover, reporting techniques will be standardised across the chapter by developing working best practices guides that up-skill the testers on how to use different reporting techniques and tools to generate good MI. However, most importantly, you will empower people to be their best, driving change and leading the test chapter to achieving its goals Role Responsibilities: Focusing on the development of the Chapter frameworks. Investigations and assessments into new testing techniques, approaches, tools and technology. Actively getting involved in new Proof-of-Concept activities as directed by Principals and Leads. Assisting with the implementation of Tribe-based testing solutions of their applications and integration with Chapter framework. Delivering optimisations of our end-to-end deliverables to maintain low levels of hosting costs. Working alongside more junior testers to assist in their upskilling and development in line with results based goals defined by the chapter lead/s Running regular workshops to update our test team/tribe to further the test chapters approach – automation / BDD etc Ability to critically analyse established best practices and provide more viable testing solutions. Lead people, support and apprise behaviour / best practice in line with business objectives and able to adopt appropriate feedback techniques (i.e. P2P/360) Encourages people to challenge and improve the way things are done to improve outcomes for our customers. Skills, Experience & Qualifications Requirements: ISTQB Qualified – Foundation Level - essential Prince2 - desirable Demonstrable experience of test management in an agile model Excellent understanding of Agile principles. Strong understanding of SDLC and fundamental test processes, testing levels, tools and automation. TDD and/or BDD testing experience Knowledge and experience in scrum, development practices and testing in an agile/hybrid model. Ability to scrutinise and review tests, test tools and project related documentation, report findings and offer solutions. Good knowledge and experience of project management tools: Jira and confluence are essential. Blueprint is desirable. Ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate with key stakeholders Strong problem solving and analytical skills Qualifications Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
