The overarching objective of the Technical Writer is to assist the wider team for the Creation, Updating and Management of the technical documentation to AIA’s Group shared Public Cloud services. The role will ensure all cloud related documentation is consistently available to all team members within the Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) as well as to other internal stakeholders within AIA and external partners where required.

The role will work closely with the other supporting external services, such as managed service providers and other consulting agencies on a project basis.

The role will act as the owner for all documents created and maintained within the CCoE and its partners as well as the document management system used.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare, review, update, and maintain CCoE technical documents.
  • Analyze and synthesize complex content into layman language by adhering to the style guide and maintaining the accuracy.
  • Identify gaps in the CCoE Enterprise Document Management (EDM) systems and processes.
  • Work closely with engineers and SMEs of CCoE to create and/or update documentation in a consistent manner.
  • Create infographics to clearly communicate workflow processes and abstract topics.
  • Create and refresh CCoE PowerPoint presentations.
  • Manage the lifecycle of technical documentation including draft, review, and publish phases.
  • Liaise with other Group Office and Business Unit teams for consistent filing of operations manuals while ensuring they meet the required guidelines for content in line with the agreed EDM.
  • Improve operational efficiency via ease of search and availability of documentation.
  • Provide continuous improvement for document management.
  • Own the templates, document style guide and govern the adherence to those where required.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Technical Writing or in related job role.
  • Excellent understanding and proven experience in using; Confluence, Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint with a high level of proficiency), Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Visio, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience working with SharePoint is an advantage.
  • Working experience within an IT based team or organization.
  • Understanding of Document Development Life Cycle (DDLC), and technology concepts, including Cloud based.
  • Experience within regulated industry and regional or multinational scope organization.
  • Experience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unit.
  • Sound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices.
