This exciting role offers opportunity to: Job Summary This position is part of Chief Engineers office developing Power Products for Electrical Systems and Electric Transpiration System. The incumbent will directly support EATON’s electrification and energy transition strategy, through digitisation. As a digitization Subject Matter Expert, the incumbent will be responsible for understanding customer/product requirement and from there define embedded system architecture and design. The person will be responsible for detail software development, including coding, testing and debugging. The incumbent will lead the embedded software design and development, testing, technical documentation of products like Battery Charger, DC/DC Converter, and Inverter. This role also participates in system-level requirements analysis, cost estimation, design reviews and other team development processes. The person will take ownership of building innovation in embedded system architecture for product differentiation. Contribution of this role will bring competitive advantage of EATON products in market. Incumbent will be responsible for working within a cross functional teams to deliver on project requirements. The person is expected to work with local and global team members located in India, U.S, Europe, China etc. Success will require deep knowledge of embedded hardware and software architecture. The incumbent is expected to execute complete embedded software development lifecycle. The goal is to create scalable and optimized software systems. Job Responsibilities Understand top level product requirement and create more detail requirements to meet top level product requirement Define software architecture to meet customer / product requirement Understand hardware circuit – Analog Circuits, Digital Electronics, Embedded hardware circuits and Power Electronics Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment Design, develop, code, test, and debug system software Analyzing and enhance efficiency, stability, and scalability of system resources Mentor other engineers and Review code and design Lead technical discussion and design reviews with vendors and cross-function groups Develop test and validation plan in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements Be critical reviewer in all forms of documentation especially Design documents, Test Plans and Customer documentation. Comply with Development Process adherence Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers and vendors Qualifications Requirement: Master’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering from an accredited institution Around 15 years of experience in Embedded domain More than 15 years of hands-on experience in the Embedded Software Development Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets Hands on experience in IOT Product Development Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces, and hardware subsystems Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components Ability to create detail product specification and requirement analysis vis a vis cost trade off Experience with model-based design methods and simulation- MATLAB/Simulink Knowledge of CAN communication serial data protocols (CAN, CANFD, J1939, Flex Ray) and tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CANopen, etc.) Device Drivers: USB (Bulk transfer), I2C, GPIO, SPI, UART, RS-485 Expert level proficiency in C, C++, C#, design pattern, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, UML, Data Structure & Algorithms, preempting, multithreading, multitasking real-time operating systems, network programming Microcontrollers: ARM, Renesas, PIC, TI C2000, MSP 430, Xilinx Zynq, Intel Atom and similar Embedded Systems: FPGA, CPLD, SIL Systems, Bare Metal System Operating Systems: Windows, Linux, OS-X Networking: Linux Ethernet MAC Driver, Custom MAC driver, Porting TCP/IP stack Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review Strong documentation and writing skills Domain: Industrial Controls, Industrial Ethernet (Profinet, Ethernet/IP); Experience in Power Electronic Products and Electrical / Automotive industry is added advantage Yes!
