You will be responsible for ensuring that the processes within the purchasing, logistics, import, export, and costing functions support the compliance with FTA preferential calculation requirements for EU-SADC EPA (“EUR1”), UK-SACUM, SADC, AGOA.
You will drive compliance of supplier declarations with FTA and APDP requirements supported by audits and supplier visits. You will ensure that FTA training and knowledge is regularly provided to internal & external interface partners. You will support the BMW AG department responsible for FTA’s on topics relating to & impacting South Africa and Africa. You will be accountable for the compliance with Export Controls through maintaining internal guidelines, raising awareness throughout the business, and conducting process and systems compliance audits. You will ensure that import and export processes are compliant with SARS Customs and ITAC APDP legislation and regulations. You will support with Export Customs compliance processes (origin certificates, declarations)
Lastly you will be accountable for the implementation of ad hoc projects relating to compliance topics for which the department is responsible.
You will also take responsibility for the internal control environment within your area.
The role is responsible for BMW’s compliance with Customs and other governmental agencies requirements with regards to APDP, Customs, Export Control and Free Trade Agreements “FTA’s”.
• Relevant Financial Hons level degree or LLB with specialisation in Customs / Trade
• +3 years’ experience within a customs or process
• Experience within Logistics advantageous
• Free Trade Agreement experience advantageous
• System, process, and controls knowledge
• Initiative and attention to detail
• Communication & presentation skills
• Understanding of Free Trade Agreements
• Understanding of Customs
