This position is part of Skunkworks team focusing on fast paced innovation across the domains such as EV, Industrial systems & avionics. This team will work on product & technology development related to power conversion systems such as DC-DC, UPS, Inverters, Traction Inverters, required for EV, stationery and avionics domain. Team is expected to have significant interactions with senior leadership & cross functional team to mature projects from ideation to Industrialization. The incumbent shall, Own the complete hardware development life cycle for products in domains of interest to EATON. Decompose the product/system requirements to hardware requirements, define architecture in line with industry best practices (e.g., ASPICE 3.1), Develop module & system level hardware design & facilitate its integration to main system and software associated with it. Oversee the deployment of systems & solutions in close cooperation with various stakeholders. Present in leadership reviews with progress updates, provide mentorship (Including handholding) to junior hardware engineers in the team and influence the specifications for differentiated value proposition. This exciting role offers opportunity to: Drive the hardware design life cycle, through design and implementation in line with best practices as required for domain of interest. Redefine & deploy the processes that are domain specific in nature. Work with program managers and other key members, in defining & rolling out the tasks and other key specifics to have defect free delivery of sub-system/component/system under consideration. Participate and lead the process simplification drives, that helps in reduction of time to market and development efforts. Contribute to team’s technical growth by engaging in technical discussion and mentoring. Drives overall system integration activity, by working with various stakeholders. Drives and delivers the projects (technical, mentoring, & review); Required Skills: Ability to decompose product requirements and develop hardware specific requirements for product/solution under consideration Ability to optimally design hardware required for the product/solution under consideration & architectures of interest. Ability to devise & drive release plans as per the product specification (MVP) and hardware design maturity Qualifications Qualification: Required: Masters' degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering from reputed college. Desired: PhD in Electrical Engineering /system and controls 12+ years of extensive experience in development of hardware system and solutions Proven experience in designing electrical hardware systems with emphasis on power electronics, in the area of “electrification of mobility sector”. Proven experience in industrialization of various hardware systems pertaining to Fuel cell, Chargers, UPS and other key areas pertaining to “electrification of mobility sector” Proven experience in system integration and other aspects related to field deployment and product development Proven experience in team mentoring and management Proven experience in managing delivery of projects worth more than $2 million Knowledge of standards and processes & its application in the field of “electrification of mobility sector”.
