Job Description

Responsible for planning, organising, leading and controlling Infrastructure Service provision across all business processes in a local context and ensuring that services are rendered in keeping with the agreed targets by using the prescribed standards and tools for Mobile Telephony, Fixed Telephony, End-User Devices/Services across all BMW Group Prime Processes.

 

 

Key Responsibility:

  • Requirements-conformant provision of IT End User Infrastructure and Workplace Solutions for all business locations of BMW South Africa & BMW Financial Services alongside all the respective remote locations.
  • Ensure High level availability on Workplace Infrastructure. 
  • Ensure the most efficient operation of the IT End User devices for all business locations on the following services (Office & Production) - PC's, MFD's, Mobile Telephony, Video Conference Systems, Fixed Telephony, PRIMA, Industrial Workspace Hardware etc.
  • Ensure and secure operations for Workplace Solutions at all business location and data centres of BMW South Africa and BMW Financial Services South Africa as well as the security of Workplace Technologies in line with agreed standards.
  • ITSM Ticketing Process & Handling - IM, CM, PM, SCM, Configuration and Event Management in Infrastructure Operations.
  • Manage IT service levels of infrastructure services/management
  • Infrastructure operational control to the agreed quality; ensure operability and secure operations of the infrastructure within the scope of the function (control providers, volume and stock planning, budget control/planning, making releases productive)
  • Budget control and planning, costs and resources/providers; deploy and manage operational staff within the relevant legal requirements
  • JIRA & Confluence steering for the department
  • Service Provider Steering (Printing Solutions; End-User Services; Mobile Carrier)
  • Stand-by availabilty 24x7

  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and a volatile environment with often ambiguous and conflicting requirements and priorities

  • Ability to work as part of a team, inter dependant as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality. SELF STARTER.

  • Willing and able to travel (International).
  • Higher National Diploma in Information Technology, University Degree in Business Administration or equivalent Qualification
  • ITIL Certification
  • 3 - 5 years supervisory experience including disciplinary team leadership responsibility
  • As an advantage: 2+ Years’ experience working on international projects or assignment; general mixed experience in IT systems, infrastructure and application architectures and technologies e.g. Operating Systems, End Devices etc.
