Our TSG Operations team supports critical infrastructure for core business applications. We deliver capacity to support existing and new business activity, while owning and governing enterprise demand and capacity management standards, policies, processes, operating models, and tools. Our team provides 24x7x365 support for incidents, changes, and requests for key services including: Data Center Operations; Global File Transfer; Batch and Mainframe Operations; Global Data Center Strategy; planning/governing infrastructure disaster recovery services, playbook and TSG Business Continuity Plans.

 

The Role

We are seeking a Support Analyst who will be responsible for the business as usual (BAU) operational activities of the Data Center Services (DCS) team. The DCS team is responsible for the planning, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all data center hardware devices. You will provide excellent customer service and report progress regularly. You will also assist the DCS team with troubleshooting server/network/storage systems. The work environment is fast paced and deadline-oriented where adaptability is key to our success as a team, thus having depth of knowledge of working large-scale data center environments is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for BAU Data Center activities such as: hardware installations/repairs, configurations, troubleshooting (Intel/Linux/Network/Mainframe), upgrades (firmware) and optimization.
• Responsible for the proper implementation and closure of all assigned IT Trouble, Install or Change Requests; within Data Center Safe Times
• Responsible for proper disposal and management of IT media such as: disk drives and memory
• Responsible for ensuring Quality Assurance checks and procedures are complete and or updated, in a timely manner
• Responsible for following directions from senior engineers and to escalate issues or tasks, on the clients behalf
• Responsible for maintaining, installing and removing Data Center fiber and copper cabling
• Responsible for escorting and managing IT Vendor Field Engineers and System Analysts

 

 

Designs, implements, integrates, and provides full support for software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment. Performs complex troubleshooting as a subject matter expert. Works to ensure appropriate monitoring and alerting setup. Works on root cause analysis and problem management to address underlying technical issues. Collaborates with business and application development stakeholders. Monitors infrastructure and respond to incidents, perform routine health checks and validations after changes or significant incidents, follows defined procedures for routine, low priority incident resolution. Escalate to second level infrastructure support for new or high priority incidents, Review and execute Change Management scripts. Contributes to major incident management calls for resolution of high priority incidents.May mentor or provide guidance for junior team members. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives MODIFIED BASED UPON LOCAL REGULATIONS/REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred 6 - 8 years of related infrastructure experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

• One year of IT Data Center support experience is required. Five (5) years of experience is preferred.
• Experience with installing racks, connecting power, installing Ethernet, fiber and console cabling, terminating copper and proper labelling
• Proficient hardware troubleshooting skills and comfort working in a fast-paced Data Center environment.
• Strong working knowledge of physical IT infrastructures (e.g. Servers, SANs, Networking, etc.)
• Ability to communicate with peers, management and clients in a professional and timely manner
• Strong understanding of HP & Cisco standalone servers, enclosures, & blades.
• Hands on experience with x86 architecture-based systems (strong intel background)
• Knowledge and experience with change request, safe time and service request procedures
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time
