The Specialist Programmer I is primarily responsible for providing support to deliver technical programming and information components of assigned projects. They will act to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of lower scope and complexity. This role works under the direction and support of an experienced programmer.
Typical Accountabilities
- Apply computer science and information technology for the development and maintenance of low complexity tools and related processes supporting the Biometrics analysis and innovation process.
- Support the development of programming standards/best practice or techniques to improve the quality, compliance and efficiency of deliverables for overall AZ programming community effectiveness.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and objectives for own work or team.
- Support evaluations of Biometrics tools and efficiencies in collecting different types of data and production of analysis.
- Support for the design, development and maintenance of single point Biometrics processes and tools supporting analysis and innovation.
- Ensure computer system validation compliance for production tools for audit ready state.
- Leads quality of own deliverables and completeness of applicable quality and process documentation.
- Seeks to acquire knowledge of computer science and/or information technology and or programming.
Essential
- BSc (or local equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics, Life or Social Sciences or equivalent experience.
- Experienced in developing programming utilities and tools.
- SAS programming experience (or equivalent).
- Ability to apply problem solving and quality focused.
- Understanding of compliance principles.
- Good communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Good collaboration skills.
Desirable
- Understanding of other programming languages (e.g. R, Java, Groovy, Spotfire, C/C++, VBA/VBS, .NET, Python, Pearl) would be advantageous.
- High-level understanding of Analysis and Reporting within Clinical Development.
- High-level understanding of Data Management within Clinical Development.
- Audit experience.
