Specialist: Treasury and Payroll Accounting

Job Description




You will be tasked with appropriate accounting relating to treasury instruments or loans in terms of IFRS 9, and ensuring s45 compliance in terms of the companies act in terms of solvency and liquidity, including dividend planning aspects and the compliance topics related thereto. You are responsible for liquidity planning and steering for BMW SA, working together with the BMW Financial Services team to manage the BMW Group South Africa liquidity. You will be responsible for managing / steering and the reporting of local group cash liquidity to ensure that the local group has sufficient cash reserves. You will be responsible for the compliance with regulatory authority regulations and the annual / quarterly reporting of information thereto. (Regulatory authorities include: Stats SA, NAAMSA, certain South African Reserve Bank (SARB), National Credit Regulator (NCR)).
Further to this, you will have responsibility of Payroll Accounting for BMW ZA. You will be responsible for reconciliation and verification of Payroll Debtors and Payroll General Ledger Accounts.
You will be accountable for Inbound Expats invoices to be processed via the payroll system. You will submit Tax Schedules and Joint Reporting at quarter-end and SARS EMP 201 Returns. You will submit quarterly submissions to the National Credit Regulator and quarterly preparation of bonus payments to Finance as part of Stats SA submissions. You will enforce and maintain company compliance of all applicable guidelines and policies. You will plan, prepare and decide on social cost percentage calculation for budget and provision purposes. You will review monthly provision results and determine deviations and trends requiring action. You will be responsible for the management of payroll accounting related audits. You will liaise with HR regarding any errors or issues noted. You will be accountable for steering aspects relating to correct expat accounting and forecasting related to payroll provisions, and income statement releases.


You will also take responsibility for the internal control environment within your areas of responsibility.







• CA (SA) qualification
• Articles + 2 years post articles experience and SAP knowledge preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) skills
• Accounting (IFRS)
• Negotiating skills and analytical skills with creativity and initiative
• Ability to effectively deal with senior management and external parties (interpersonal skills).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimum supervision.
• Ability to deal with varied tasks at the same time without losing sight of the big picture.
