Job Description
Hazel & Hershey Coffee Roasters and Coffee Camps are the two operating legs of Wealth Click Limited. The coffee kingdom started off in 2011 as distributor of coffee related tools and brewing machines in a factory premises named after the birth of Hershey, the founder's second daughter.
The first cafe outlet was set up at a prime area in Soho area @ 69 Peel Street, where we brew, sell and host customers in the name of Hazel & Hershey, a trading name which incorporated the names of the Founder's two daughters.
The name of the Founder's son, Hercules was also used for establishing Hercules' Coffee Lab in the Soho's neighborhood near PMQ at Chung Wo Lane, where we started our first coffee roastery locally turning raw coffee beans imported from different parts of the world into ready grind and brew coffee beans. A variety of coffee related trainings were taught at Hercules' Coffee Lab, from leisure classes to professional accreditation to the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE) being the world's leading professional organisation promoting excellence in quality coffee.
The Founder subsequently integrated the operations of Hercules' Coffee Lab to form a single brand in the name of Hazel & Hershey Coffee Roasters in 2016. As the business model continues to evolve and so as the Founder's family, which has grown to six since the arrival of his fourth daughter, more development is expected to come about in the coming and many years ahead!
Hazel & Hershey Coffee is looking for candidates who are passionate about developing careers in the coffee industry and explore various opportunities to join us as a coffee roaster production assistant at our coffee lab in Kwai Chung. We are also looking to hire barista for our coffeehouses and a clerk, on the job trainings will be provided throughout your employment with us to discover your individual strengths and focus areas flexibly.
Coffee Roaster Production Assistant is a position that works under and reports directly to the Head Roaster. Coffee Roaster Production Assistant is a great way to learn every aspect of the coffee industry. You will gain exposures in the full production process of coffee, from raw beans to cups.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Head Roaster to procure quality and efficiency in roasting, blending and packing of coffee
Prepare green coffee and roasting hardware and software to support the daily to weekly roasting activities in the coffee lab
Prepare packaging materials for shipping and labeling of bags and boxes
Ensure all orders are filled, packed and shipped
Stock-take and shelve coffee related products in the coffee lab and communicate inventory levels
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning of coffee roasting production equipments
Requirements
Prior experience in roasting preferred but not a must. Training will be provided by the Head Roaster which usually covers the basics of skills relating to coffee production, and correct use of related equipments
Willingness to work overtime occasionally and on shifts when it is required. Ability to handle pressure and work independently at special events
Detail-oriented and well-organized. Maintains a professional attitude and company morale
