Job Description

Reporting to EHSS Manager, this role is primarily responsible for daily ground support of EHSS activities involving Amgen Singapore’s employees and contractors. EHSS Associate leads a team of EHSS Technicians, assuming accountability of the team’s performance in efforts to ensures that all operational resources are promptly met in effort to enable smooth and safe operations on site.

Apart from primary site operational supports, EHSS Associate is also the lead in some EHSS programs on site, rendering services to functional units and a key team member for overall EHSS successes at Amgen Singapore.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibilities in managing rotational EHSS Technician team, ensuring sufficient coverage and deliveries of duties in daily operations of the plants, as well as emergency readiness and response.
  • Provide operational EHSS support in day-to-day plant operations such as safety risk assessment review, gas monitoring, safety trainings, etc.
  • Support strong contractor safety management plan that includes contractor’s safety inspection, induction trainings, coaching and risk assessment review.
  • Lead some relevant EHSS programs for the site, such as working-at-height, confined space, etc. that are assigned based on changing business needs.
  • An internal customer interface and assume the role of primary EHSS contact for business unit(s).
  • Support co-ordination and implementation of EHSS monitoring plan such as industrial hygiene, environmental sampling and ergonomics assessment.
  • As an integrated member of EHSS team, assume other temporary roles assigned to ensure the overall success of the team.

Basic Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Science, Safety or technical equivalent AND

Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer AND

3-7 years of Environment, Safety and Health experience preferably in manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates who understand cGMP requirements and have had worked in the pharmaceutical industries and experience in emergency preparedness and response
  • Registered Fire Safety Manager
  • Comfortable in conducting trainings, inspections and strong understanding in local occupational EHSS regulations
  • Good leadership, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, especially in managing teams
  • Ability to manage multiple programs and timelines and able to influence cross functional teams
  • Equipped with high initiative, energy and good problem-solving skills
  • Able to develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers including associate service providers and contractors
  • Ability to communicate well and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
