Job Description

The role of an Operations Sr Associate Finance will consist of reviewing financial data for analyses and interpretation. The individual in this role will use software packages i.e Excel to analyze financial data, spot trends and develop forecast.  Additionally, the person in this role will work with a variety of people across the company to perform his/her job; therefore, to be successful will have strong skills in communication.  This role will be focused on supporting a new capability to Amgen, derived from an on-going project, so the candidate needs to be comfortable working with changing time-lines and deliverables to support business needs.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Prepare, analyze and present operating expense results for various department managers and communicate expense plans and results 
• Prepare standard and ad hoc expense analyses including headcount related costs and outside expenses 
• Lead continuous improvement projects using existing digital technologies and streamlining on-going activities through automation 
• Provide client support as needed 
• Participate in the monthly closing activities for various sites under corporate management 
• Analyze data and present results to senior management in a professional, clear and concise manner 
• Take initiative and work in a fast paced environment 
• Develop benchmarks to evaluate resource allocation, relative efficiencies, and asset management of the functional area.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree

OR

Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years of Finance or Accounting experience

OR

Associates degree AND 6 years Finance or Accounting experience

OR

High School diploma/GED AND 8 years Finance or Accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years relevant experience in Finance/Accounting functions requiring business/financial analysis
• Experience and/or ability to learn data analytics tools and familiarity with master data management; automation experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel / PowerPoint skills
• Experience preferred with SAP and Hyperion
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms
• Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed multinational organization
• Detailed oriented and highly motivated
• Proven ability to work effectively in remote environment, ambiguous situations and team environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines
