Job Summary

Amgen is searching for a highly motivated Senior Associate to support part of Amgen’s Process Development organization, Manufacturing and Clinical Supply (MCS) team. This role will be responsible for financial planning processes such as the annual budget, forecasts and long-range planning. In addition to planning processes, responsibilities will include supporting the quarter-end close, variance analysis, generating business insights/improvement opportunities and updating standard costs. This role will be based remote (PST) or in Thousand Oaks, CA.   

Job Responsibilities

• Financial planning, tracking and reporting of MCS operational activities within the financial planning system
• Lead annual standard setting process within SAP partnering with global manufacturing network leads
• Create and update data analysis models and dashboards to support business performance monitoring and variance analysis (Tableau, Smartsheets and others)
• Quarter-end close support, which includes generating insightful variance explanations, accrual support to business partners
• Provide support in developing executive presentations
• Develop strong partnerships with other Finance staff members and cross-functional teams to drive process consistencies and efficiencies
• Support Clinical/Commercial mix impact to financials, COGM calculation, ad hoc improvement projects and analysis as needed
• Explore new and existing digital technologies and data analytics approaches 

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree

OR

Bachelor’s degree AND 2 years of Finance or Accounting experience

OR

Associates degree AND 6 years Finance or Accounting experience

OR

High School diploma/GED AND 8 years Finance or Accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years relevant experience in Finance/Accounting functions requiring business/financial analysis
• Experience and/or ability to learn data analytics tools and familiarity with master data management; automation experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel / PowerPoint skills
• Experience preferred with SAP and Hyperion
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills including familiarity with finance and accounting terms
• Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed multinational organization
• Detailed oriented and highly motivated
• Proven ability to work effectively in remote environment, ambiguous situations and team environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines
