In this vital Sr. Associate Scientist role, you will contribute to developing, validating and implementing robust bioanalytical methods for the measurement of large molecule biotherapeutics. These methods will be required to support both nonclinical and clinical studies.
Amgen is seeking a Sr. Associate Scientist to work out of our Thousand Oaks, CA location. The department of Translational Safety & Bioanalytical Sciences (TS&BA) within Amgen is dedicated to the discovery and development of novel effective, safe medicines. TS&BA Scientists work closely in partnership with other teams, such as protein therapeutics, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences and clinical pharmacology and regulatory to design promising clinical therapeutic candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to regulatory submissions.
The primary responsibilities will include:
- Participate in the design and execution of innovative scientific experiments for development, validation and implementation of robust bioanalytical methods for large molecule biotherapeutics, including Oligonucleotides in clinical and nonclinical study samples
- Performing data analysis, interpreting results and reviewing data for technical content with some supervision.
- Works in accordance with organization and department compliance, safety and quality requirements and SOPs.

Basic Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and 3 years of laboratory-based research experience OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of laboratory-based research experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with laboratory automated liquid handlers (e.g. Tecan) and/or automated script design.
- Hands on experience and knowledge in immunoassays.
- Good computer skills and ability to operate specialized laboratory equipment.
- Working knowledge of the regulatory (GxP) requirements for bioanalysis in drug development.
- Strong organizational and record keeping skills, detail oriented.
- Ability to work in a team environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
