Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for meeting specific SCM functions, procurement focused in new product introductions (NPI), new product development (NPD) and/or production process of Aerospace manufacturing, managing transitions from other Eaton sites or new projects for FED. Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Purchasing parameters in System (MFGPro) ensuring correct requirements generation and flow down. Helps coordinate with quality and manufacturing First Article requirements and validations. Drives negotiations and manage the timely procurement of materials and supply. The role requires individual to be familiar with a complete range of procurement functions and work with sending/receiving sites to ensure schedules are met. The position drives continuous improvement in Supply Chain while utilizing the framework of the Eaton Business System (EBS) and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Requires and Balances First Article validation and/or current and future customer demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements. Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements planning and purchasing information and prepares reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supply chain execution from NPI stage to sustaining. Reviews purchasing parameters in order execution systems (MFGPro) to ensure proper order generation. Coordinates with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Customer Service groups to maintain First Article validation and/or production scheduling information. Assists materials planning and purchasing group in analyzing the need for, and size of, strategic inventories to meet customer demand fluctuations from the transitions to sustaining. Generate information on scheduled demand items for use in Sales, Inventory, and PO placement and management – Expediting, de-expediting and cancel as well as past due and PO acknowledgment, ensuring desired inventory levels are maintained. Consults with SCM peers in feeder or recipient manufacturing plants to ensure schedules are coordinated and develop and maintain on going supplier relationships. RFQ Management – Manage the quotation process, review all RFQ’s, and work with Commodity Managers in providing sourcing recommendations. Report Management – Prepare data and reports to present recommendations for continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality and delivery and take actions to align Supply and Demand in support of project schedules and timelines. Supplier Management – Develop and maintain on going supplier relationships and work on supplier addition / modification in the system in support of new product introduction and project timeline. MCO review and approval, Requirement Review approval and follow up. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: 3 to 7 yrs. Supply Chain experience Bilingual English/ Spanish Good communication skills Knowledge of materials systems (MRP/ERP) Experience in New Production Introduction Project transfer experience desirable Detailed understanding of SIOP process Strong Leadership as well as Good communication skills Experience in supplier development preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Aerospace experience preferred Computer skills required Lean and sig sigma Knowledge preferred ISM CSMP or APICS CSCP preferred ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Customer Focus (internal and external) Skill in effective communication Teamwork and collaboration with cross-functional team All the activities listed above are mentioned but not limited.
