Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Sr. Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Juarez facility The Sr. Buyer is responsible for planning and coordinating activities Purchases of materials for Inter-company and / or imported not Eaton suppliers. So it must coordinate activities Senior (Purchasing) in order to maintain an optimal level of service to the productive areas and meet the needs of purchased resources to meet delivery promises for standard products as Special Projects for Final customer. Responsible for resource planning purchased, based on forecasts of goods and sales forecast plans for electrical and mechanical components to support the manufacture of electrical equipment and to review progress of purchases on time or missing in assembly projects. Follow-ups and expedite according with timing of projects. Some activities related with the position will be: Review and coordinate the activities purchasing materials, placing the shopping flow in line with the recommendations of generating MRP, procurement priority reports focused on meeting the project delivery commitments and / or standard products. Coordinate Logistics with local and international carriers for Request for Quote activities and Collection of goods for Eaton plants world wide. and importation process into Mexico. With expedite materials purchases getting shorter all materials and / or products supporting international and local origin when this is required items expediting international telephone and / or via email, the same applies for local items. Review the requirements and availability of materials in stock when so required, to give priority placement, expediting and arrival of materials, seek to optimize the use of materials within the plant. Proposing alternative uses to maintain a proper rotation of inventory. Is responsible for reporting performance metrics related to imported purchases. Monitor the activities of your area are focused on meeting the metric as DOH, OTP, SFR, Gross Inventory etc... Participate in daily production meetings, Tier meeting and meet the needs of missing materials purchases that occur. Generate high plans and programs for new suppliers, Evaluation and development of suppliers, and make continuous improvement activities, proposing KAIZEN programs related to CI. To support the implementation and monitoring of policy and ESH goals and contribute to the achievement of objectives and environmental and safety goals, support to keep the SAA care of the environment and carry out activities related to EHS, report any unsafe act or condition to detect, and understand and apply operational controls applicable to their jobs (Separate and place in appropriate containers for trash waste hazardous and non-hazardous, recyclable paper, aluminum cans, empty toner cartridges and ink; report water leaks and gas) All activities carried out by the Buyer must agree to and must be consistent with the processes, policies and ethical standard EATON Meet any other activity assigned by your supervisor or special requirements of the company. Comply the Eaton Business System (EBS), in foundations, Planning, Growth, Functional Excellence, Assessment and Learning, mainly in the Eaton Business Excellence (EBE); ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 and its tools (such as: Eaton Quality System (EQS), Eaton Lean System and Six Sigma-ELS, HR Operating Review and Employee Survey. Know and comply the Policies: Global Ethics, Values and Philosophy, Management Environmental Safety and Security and Health (MESH), SCM policies. MESH compliance and follow up of policies and goals Support MESH to accomplish goals and objectives related to e nvironment and safety Support to sustain SSA for environmental care Report any act or condition not safe. #LI-SL4 Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: BS Degree in Business Administration; Industrial Engineering from an accredited institution required Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English-Spanish (90%). Minimum of 3 years prior procurement experience in electrical industry; or related product MTO/ETO manufacturing. Must have good verbal and written communication skills in English-Spanish (bilingual) required. Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic. Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, supplier selection, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in computer skills Microsoft Office applications (Power BI, Word, Excel, Power Point, Project Management). Knowledge of MAPICS (PO creation, inventory management, MRP). Detail knowledge for VISTA and Global VISTA application (Order creation, order maintenance) MENTOR Knowledge for reports. SIOP activities related to administration in all 5 steps. ForecastPRO-V6 knowledge on demand forecast for RAW and FG products.
