Eaton’s Fuel Motion Control sector, a part of our Eaton's Aerospace Group, is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team. This position is based at our Los Angeles, California facility. Candidate must report/work daily on-site at our LA facility M- F. Position Overview: This position purchases assigned items at the best total value, considering cost, quality, and delivery. The buyer role includes coordinating with strategic sourcing and managing supplier fulfillment from purchase order issuance to part receipt into stock. In this function you will: Commodity Strategy Development/Sourcing Fully understand Eaton and its customer requirements and effectively flow these to strategic sourcing group Define and evaluate supplier performance requirements Support or lead execution of commercial agreement. Prepare, analyze, and make sourcing selections using request for quote and documentation Issue purchase orders in MRP system to suppliers. Supplier Performance Coordinate and co-lead supplier performance meetings Analyzes data to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal supplier delivery. Update and maintain purchase orders in MRP system for changes in design and delivery requirements. Develop relationship with suppliers and become the company… Cost Negotiate and drive cost out to mitigate price increases Resolve supplier payment issues with suppliers Continuous Improvement/Training Perform all other duties as directed by Purchasing Manager or Supply Chain Manager Develop and present training to internal customers Collaborate with peers and management to determine key goals and objectives, and corresponding metrics Improve internal and external customer satisfaction Create new and revise existing procurement processes to accomplish best-practice Other Record Management - Perform clerical duties to maintain Purchasing files in accordance with policies and retention guidelines. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of Four (4) years purchasing and/or procurement experience or equivalent internship/CO-OP experience within a Manufacturing and/or Operations environment. No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Los Angeles, CA will be considered for this position. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the Internal Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field. Procurement knowledge/experience with metal/aluminum machine parts. Experience in Aviation / Aerospace industry. Proficiency with computers including MS Office (Excel) and MRP systems preferably SAP. Experience with Quality Management Systems and standards including ITAR, FAIR, AS 9100, ISO 9001. Project management experience in a business environment Position Criteria: Understanding of, or ability to learn Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection and inventory control Ability to learn and apply commodity strategy Demonstrated use of negotiated techniques and tactics Ability to communicate – written and verbal Demonstrated ability to work well with others Demonstrated ability to support a cross-functional team, Ability to logically solve problems and keep projects moving in an orderly, structured fashion Ability to document and communicate supplier selection in support of compliance requirements Possesses talent to resolve business challenges and influence others Willingness to learn to decipher technical data to make purchasing decisions At Eaton, we strive to provide compensation and benefits that attract, engage, and retain the best talent.
