How will you make an impact?

The Senior Buyer performs all functions needed to ensure the lowest total cost of purchased materials, drives continuous improvement with assigned suppliers and supports the success of the factory to provide a dependable supply chain of material and services. The successful Site Buyer owns the responsibility and accountability of the Supplier’s performance in meeting the demands of the factory.

What will you do?

  • Executes and maintains Purchase Orders.
  • Communicates forecasts to vendors.
  • Ensures product availability in alignment with supplier managed inventory plans that will absorb reasonable spikes in demand.
  • Resolves supply disruptions and Accounts Payable issues.
  • Negotiates with suppliers to implement improved pricing, strategies, policies, and procedures for successful integration into business plans across the site.
  • Manage supplier risks and actions to mitigate business impact
  • Interface with Category Management to drive cost reductions, supplier consolidations, etc.
  • Develop, maintain, and implement strategic projects to support the success of the factory.
  • Assurance of Supply – right products, right time, in the right place.
  • Monitor production performance to ensure MRP parameters are aligned to demonstrated performances.
  • Evaluate key performance indicators and drive improvements through strategy adjustments.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of procurement processes, standard work and tools.
  • Maintains master data – lead-time, pricing, MOQs (lead), safety stock, min/max.
  • Be the Procurement lead on NPIs and other project activities in collaboration with cross functional team to ensure successful supplier launch.
  • Provide coaching to less experienced Procurement team members.

How will you get there? 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business or Engineering 
  • Minimum 3 years experience in Purchasing / Supply Chain / Procurement / Sourcing  
  • Experience in MRP / ERP systems required  
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Possess a basic technical understanding of how to interpret drawings /specifications
  • Experience in supplier consolidation and product transfer initiatives
  • Experience in project management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPM., APICS, CPIM certification preferred
  • Global procurement experience
  • Experienced in managing contract manufacturers
  • Experience in SAP
