Job Description
The Buyer-Planner is a key role in the strategic plan to gather data and conduct analysis to ensure the supply chain operations are stable and inventory levels are adequate to meet production lead-times. They will also champion the supply planning production components. An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. Excellent organizational skills and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity. What you will do: • Develop production schedule and manufacturing plan consistent with finish product demand, resource availability and inventory level objectives • Review MRP and generate or release orders to meet customer and forecast demand requirements and inventory plan. • Analyzes and maintains material requirement: Issues all purchase orders requests, rescheduling for production materials & assemblies, tracks receipt, expedites and resolves issues. • Track, monitor and expedite part shortages • Integrates internal protocols (e.g., Just-in-time, Kanban) with vendor- and customer-related processes • Supports customers’ business needs using standard processes where possible and customized solutions where necessary. Ability to communicate directly with customers in a professional manner. • Resolves goods receipts transaction discrepancies • Evaluate and report delivery reliability misses and negative availability impacts • Assist in reserve calculation and scrap allotment • Assist in COGI clearance • Update ABC/XYZ analysis and forecast update in SAP monthly • Interfaces with Quality and Engineering departments to resolve quality and rejected material problems What you will need: • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or a related field • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to draw information from various sources, analyze, and provide a recommendation • Strong planning, & organizational skills • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written) • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills • Self-starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities • Where permitted by applicable law, Siemens may require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 based on job requirements, and in accordance with an accommodation based on legally protected reason.
