Position Overview: The Senior Continuous Improvement / OPEX Engineer is responsible for driving a continuous improvement culture across a diverse manufacturing environment by utilizing lean mythologies and best practices to improve the High 5 metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (Productivity) and Inventory). In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for leading Rapid Improvement Events (RIE’s) and Kaizen events throughout the facility, while driving all CIT (Continuous Improvement Teams) activity. The Senior Continuous Improvement / OPEX Analyst is a key member of the plant team, reporting directly to the plant manager and functionally to the Royal Power Solutions Senior OPEX Manager. Essential Functions: Utilize the Eaton Lean Six Sigma system to improve the facilities overall performance, deploying Continuous Improvement principles and processes. Actively participate in High Performance Work Team efforts including 8D and A3 corrective action teams, VSM activities, PFMEA teams, PROLaunch activities, etc. Engage the plant workforce and drive a culture of continuous improvement. Obtain LEAN tool certifications according to the functional roadmap. Assist in Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) and Operational Performance Assessment (OpA) Internal audits. Follow up on implementation plan with Operational Leaders to ensure proper execution. Assist in documenting manufacturing processes and modification of Standard work. Assist in the development of EHS processes and procedures. Conduct layered process audits, to include 5S and Standard Work audits throughout the facility. Assist in training employees on various LEAN tools. Work on projects or other duties as assigned Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting Continuous Improvement activities (i.e., Kaizen, Problem Solving, VSM, 5S, Standardized Work, Lean Six Sigma). Minimum of one (1) year of working experience in a manufacturing environment; automotive preferred Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future Preferred Qualifications: MBA from an accredited institution Green Belt or Black Belt certification Broad knowledge of key operational systems including sales inventory operations planning (SIOP), materials planning systems (MRP), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and quality systems with diverse experience managing varied and complex manufacturing processes Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Bilingual skills in Spanish Plex and Oracle ERP System experience Position Success Criteria: Ability to analyze and interpret financial and operational data Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain several multiple responsibilities simultaneously and a willingness to investigate all areas of the P&L Ability to understand, interpret and implement corporate policies and procedures Ability to determine costs that qualify for capital versus expense Excellent written and oral communication skills - ability to develop and maintain positive relationships Eagerness to learn, ask questions and challenge assumptions Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
