Sr. Customer Manager: IC/Display/Snacks – Dollar General – Nashville, TN
Senior Customer Manager Dollar General IC/Snacks/Display is responsible for achieving profitable sales growth at DG for the Mars Wrigley Confectionery and Snacks business. This role is expected to maintain strong relationships at DG to best execute customer plans that deliver objectives of: revenue, growth, profit, product/assortment, placement/everyday shelving, merchandising, pricing & promotions.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor Degree
- 5 + year consumer packaged goods retailer sales experience is required
- Experienced account manager with 5 years of account sales experience
- Proven retail analytic application & management capabilities; i.e. syndicated data (Nielsen and/or IRI), customer specific data, annual customer planning
- Ability to demonstrate strong Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel & Word) capabilities
- Systems capabilities; i.e. ability to manage and work in proprietary sales planning / trade management systems
- Successful completion of a drug and background screen
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in a home office or field sales office
- Travel Requirements: 15%
What would be your key responsibilities?
- Sell Mars Wrigley Portfolio of Confections & Snacks business and all Core Displays to DG while maximizing sales growth and profit (Annual business GSV $140MM). Leverage Competitive Line Reviews to drive assortment recommendations. Responsible for delivering DG Net Sales Growth Objectives.
- Manage overall customer P&L and deliver financial targets. Effectively negotiate trade deals to drive profitable business and positive ROI. Manage Trade Budget, Rate and Drive Net Sales Realization. Complete all DG Promotional Contracts
- Proactively manage DG price/pack strategy to prevent market disruption.
- Responsible for direct sales forecast for DG based on Integrated Business Plan monthly process. Leverage tools and relationship with customer to drive forecast accuracy.
- Foster strong customer relations with your Candy Snacks Buyers, Assistant Buyers, Marketing Team & to ensure a long-term partnership that promotes sales growth.
- Develop and Align to Team Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures.
- Liaison with Customer Supply Chain Team and DG Merchandise Planning Teams to drive initiatives and monthly status meetings (30/60/90 calls).
- Cross-Functional Teamwork: Actively lead, engage and work with internal Mars-Wrigley functions, peers & colleagues, and when applicable other Mars Wrigley Division personnel to drive business results.
- Complete all new item set up forms, contracts, costings & negotiations agreements.
- Perform special projects as requested by DG Director and Small Format VP.
