PRIMARY FUNCTION: Eaton is seeking an Electronics Project Engineer for its Power Electronics (PE) and Embedded Electronics (EE) Center of Excellence (CoE). Eaton's PE & EE CoE accelerates the company's growth through the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple business units, which provides a foundation for our business to more rapidly develop innovative products. This individual will play a key role in supporting the projects with: Designing PCB layout as the PCB engineer Setting up the test benches, performing DVT, and providing test reports as the test engineer Acquiring the electronics, electrical, and mechanical components as the component engineer Supporting all lab activities and safety with a lab technician. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform PCB layout for various projects Perform functional tests for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) Perform design validation tests for power conversion and protection platforms and products Create test summary reports and provide data analytics Support technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing Participate in requirement reviews, design reviews, DVP and DVT reviews Support all lab activities and safety by working with a lab technician Why work at Eaton? Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience Experience in designing of PCB layouts Experience in maintaining parts libraries, building schematic symbols, and PCB footprints Experience in testing printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) Experience in acquiring the electronics, electrical, and mechanical components for the projects Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes Working experience with test equipment including programmable DC/AC source, oscilloscope, power analyzer, signal generator, DAQ, etc. Understanding of analog, digital, and power circuits Strong written communication and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in high voltage and power electronics testing Experience in lab management and lab activity supervision Experience in working in a power lab environment Experience and knowledge of high voltage safety (e.g., safety procedures/practices, PPE, etc.) Professional: Self-motivated and goal oriented individual. Good communication and presentation skills Collaborative orientation, the ability to succeed in a highly team oriented, global, and diverse environment.
