Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Engineer Metrology, are to: 

 

  • Function as technical resource for instrumentation specification, standards, engineering, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance for the Berkeley site;
  • Assist in effective deployment of Metrology technologies in pursuit of business opportunities, while meeting regulatory requirements;
  • Improve process technology and calibration processes through improved productivity and quality, in consultation with internal departments and external resources;
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and engineering groups in area of metrology and PAT;
  • Participate in Berkeley and global Metrology groups of technicians and/or engineers, as required to align Berkeley Metrology process to global and industry practices and generates guidelines and specifications;
  • Participate in effectively transfers knowledge to train engineering and PAT group for Metrology technical content;
  • Participate with a technical or industry association external to the company.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution and at least 6 years of engineering related experience;
  • Understanding of calibration processes for various measurement and analyzers;
  • Experience with or knowledge of instrumentation, process analyzer and metrology technologies;
  • Able to train and transfer knowledge.
     

Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Experience in a GMP / GLP environment;
  • Exposure to different types of process analyzers measuring principles and applications;
  • Ability to support and prioritize many diverse activities simultaneously while meeting schedule commitments;
  • Good oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all internal customers base;
  • Demonstrated high level of urgency and is able quickly adapt to changing priorities;
  • Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought;
  • Work with a team to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provides guidance and oversee the activities of other lower level personnel.
